 A look into 20th century Balkans -- so much behind the pejorative term "Balkanization". – a diverse place subjected to imperialism, ethnic conflicts, political strife and fragmentation.

20^th century historical overview of the Balkans, an area of southeast Europe comprising Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, the Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and the European part of Turkey.  Approximately 60 million people live in the Balkans today.
