During the early 1900s turmoil between labor and capital the
guilty verdict of the infamous Boston Sacco and Venzetti murder case triggered riots
and cries of innocence. The climate of opinion, influenced by their foreignness as
Italian immigrants and their anarchist political beliefs, was said to condemn
them without a fair trial. The actual truth
of their role in the murders, however, may never be known.
