After the
Russo-Japanese War (1905), Japan determined not be subjugated and humiliated by
European powers and proceeded to establish greater political and economic
control of Asia. During the 1920s
Japan’s Imperial army and navy established military veto power over in the
country’s Parliament. In addition, a coup d'état
ended with the killing of government’s leading members -- the incident
strengthened military rule, chaos and instability in early 20th century Japan.
