ART Deco and ART Moderne emerged as the global culture was transformed by rapid industrialization and technology.  Unlike the organic forms of its predecessor, Art Nouveau, the new styles (between World War 1 and 2) incorporated

 more linear, cubist, mechanical and streamline forms.
