Darwinism: Misconceptions and Abuse

Charles Darwin’s 1859 book, On the Origin of Species, caused alarm and clashed with indoctrinated religious believers. In contrast his findings also became the fanatical justifications for uncontrolled businesses, zealous supremacists and racialists. The questioning of theories, facts, truth, logic, scientific inquiry and specificity by the public was tested, challenged and exploited.

WW2 Fall of Berlin

Wednesday  12noon – 2pm PT  October 7th, 2015

Host Gerry Takano

Far-right political Nazi fanaticism surfaced during the social and financial upheavals after World War I.  Nazism pushed forward rampant antisemitism, racial hygiene, eugenics, pan-Germanism and the plight of the mentally and physically disabled, Romani people, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others.  The Nazi regime was also against cultural modernism and supported the development of an extensive military at the expense of intellectualism.

The Battle of Berlin ended years of fascist Nazi terrorism.
